We helped the Carter family move out this week. They are moving to Washington State! I believe they are moving to Spokane. Brother Carter is a Jaque Officer in the Air Force and was our ward mission leader. We will miss their family a lot. Two boys from a family we are teaching came and helped move. It was great because there were some boys their age there that they were able to meet. A couple days before the move, the Carters found a dog, and kept it and took care of it, and during the move, the owner pulled into the driveway and thanked the Carters so much for taking care of his dog. He tried to give them money, but they said, "Instead of giving us money, read this book". It was a copy of The Book of Mormon.

We had a great lesson this week with a lady and her daughter. The daughter is actually a member, but neither of her parents are. The Dad is on a 2-year deployment, and the lady has agreed to be baptized when the husband gets back in December. The lesson was awesome! We brought 2 of the priests from the ward to the lesson, and they did a great job teaching with us.

Someone's father in our ward is moving in with them, so they asked us to come and move some stuff around the house so they could fit him in with them. After we helped them move stuff around, they asked us if we could feed their fish out back. They gave us cups full of fish food to throw in the pond. Those fish looked like piranas eating that food. All we had to do was stand by the water's edge and they went nuts.

This week was my birthday!!! I turned 19 years old. It just so happens we were on an exchange during my birthday. For my birthday, we went to a Mexican restaurant and I got some deep fried ice cream. I don't know how they did it, but it was awesome. My Birthday dinner was at our Bishops house. They invited one of our investigators to come and have dinner with us, and then we could share one of the discussions afterward. It was a great evening. For dessert, we had eclair cake! Hmmm, looks like someone reached out to my family and found out what my favorite cake is.

The Bishops family did something super funny and awesome for my birthday.
They got me little things that represented things that had happened in the past on my birthday, and things that represent holidays that are on my birthday. The things included...

-Bandana and squirt guns for national cowboy day
-A Hersheys bar for milk chocolate day
-Shooting frogs for the start of WW 1
-A picture of the Kennewick man, that was found on July 28 in the 1990s
(Tri-city people will know who the Kennewick man is) It's very cool because I lived in the Tri-cities.
-A bracelet with the Peruvian flag on it because July 28 is when Peru declared their independence.

Their family is awesome! I had a great Birthday. Thank you all!

Love you!

Elder Dallin McKay Spurgeon
